The new US corporate headquarters for the German company Hirschmann Engineering USA, a global leader in the field of fluid technology was augmented through the addition of a second story mezzanine creating an additional 2000 sf. of office space for a total of 4,000 sf. on two floors at the front of the building and   6,000 sf. of rear storage warehouse area.

The lower level is reserved for public office functions such as conference room, kitchen, employee lounge, guest office, and warehouse office and file storage areas. These individual spaces encircle a central two-story space   designed as a flexible exhibit space for the company’s robotic division.

The second floor area houses   the directors and   accounting office together with additional space for 8   other workstations.  The circular atrium opens to the lower floor linking the two levels and allowing outdoor light to bathe the entire area while reinforcing the openness of the total space. The second floor ceiling is left exposed throughout except for a circular hanging element that mirrors the atrium below.

The space is thus able to function on various levels, not the least of which is the ability to host marketing, social and informative events for the companies sales force and clients.
